-This was created during a one month beta test of the After Effects plugin "Particle Illusion" (piAE) by
GenArts and
Wondertouch. I worked closely with the lead developer to test and troubleshoot the plugin.
-My goal was to create a visually appealing video to go along with the Chemical Brothers song also titled Burst Generator. I was inspired by the type of audio visualizers that are normally automatically generated by music, but I wanted to take it to the next level by doing it all by hand. This is a concept I had been wanting to explore for a long time, but was always overwhelmed by the amount of work that it would take to hand craft each piece. It wasn't untill piAE came along that my vision seemed within reach.
-The difference between piAE and other particle software is that piAE comes loaded with thousands of preset emitters to use as a jumping off point to create your desired look. Customizing and layering these emitters together allows you to create effects like this in a fraction time it would otherwise take using something like Particular. This project was about 30 hours, including beta testing and experimentation time.
